The unique, agent-funded charity program that helps North Texans in need

Since 1960 and counting, Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty has had roots deeply embedded in communities all over North Texas. Among their many charitable endeavors, the firm’s real estate advisors have helped serve lunch to the homeless at the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas and have supported OurCalling, a North Texas outreach group that helps with everything from addiction recovery to mentoring, and Bonton Farms, an organic market and two farms that are helping residents thrive in a once-marginalized area of South Dallas.

The brokerage also has a unique program called Love Your Neighbors, a way of giving back to the communities where its agents work, serve and live. It is funded by advisors who voluntarily donate a portion of every sales commission they receive and by a corporate contribution. Just one example? Through Love Your Neighbors, the brokerage has been able to help the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the North Texas Food Bank, two groups who work tirelessly to feed the hungry of North Texas. Thanks to commission donations by its advisors, Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty has been able to send thousands of dollars to the two food banks.

In its giving, the brokerage is keenly focused on helping people who need a shelter or a home. “In my mind,” says founder Robbie Briggs, “that’s because we’re all lucky to have one.”
